Body found in the Red River near the banks of Gooseberry Park

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – Moorhead Police have opened an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in the Red River Saturday afternoon.

Police and the Moorhead Fire Department were dispatched shortly before 3:00 p.m. to a walking path in Gooseberry Park for a report of a body in the river. Police say the body was that of a man and that it had been in the water for an extended time. It will be transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
