FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A house in south Fargo has been heavily damaged by fire.
The blaze, at 1614 13 1/2 Street South, was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Battalion Chief Joe Mangin tells KFGO News, no one had lived in the home for a couple of years.
The fire originated from an RV that had been started about 10 minutes before the fire was reported.
“En route, we were told that there was an RV that was on fire in the driveway,” Mangin said. “The RV that was in the driveway is a total loss and the fire did extend to the house…melted some siding.”
Mangin said the house had metal siding, which prevented the fire from going into the house or up into the attic.
“Had this house had a combustible siding, the outcome would have been a lot different,” Mangin said.
Mangin said the owner of the RV had permission from the homeowner to park in the driveway.
The Fire Marshal will work to determine a cause.
