MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – Moorhead residents are running out of time to vote on their preference for a new city logo.
Two similar designs are being considered. Each logo says “Moorhead Minnesota” along with two letter M’s over an illustration of the Red River.
Much of the feedback on the city of Moorhead’s Facebook page questions the need for a new logo. Many residents are wondering about the cost, why a Texas company was chosen to create it and why the familiar logo featuring the Hjemkomst Viking ship is being replaced.
Some of the comments refer to the proposed logos as “horrible,” “awkward” and “unnecessary.” One person wrote “the current logo seems more reflective of our community. The new ones seem cold.”
The city is accepting comments until Saturday.
