Terrell Smith (Cass Co. jail)
FARGO (KFGO) – Another defendant in a brutal downtown Fargo beating last year has been sentenced for his role in the assault.
Terrell Smith will spend 30 days in jail and be on probation for two years after entering an Alford plea to accomplice to aggravated assault last month. The plea means Smith agrees there would be enough evidence to convict him for the April 2024 beating on NP Avenue west of Broadway.
Smith is accused of punching Sam Pikula and knocking him to the ground. Pikula suffered severe facial injuries during the assault that included five other defendants. Doctors needed to place a titanium plate in his forehead.
Another man and a woman have already been sentenced for their roles. A third man has been found guilty and will be sentenced in September.
Two other men are set for trials in the coming months.
