BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO KVRR) – Officials with State Radio in North Dakota say the division is seeing a major influx in 911 hang-ups or misdials over the past year. The problem is one being reported by dispatch centers across the country.
State Radio had more than 1,600 hang-ups or misdials already this year compared to about 440 at the same time last year.
The State Radio Division Director Darin Anderson says some phones’ emergency settings are causing the increase. He says even if you misdial or your phone generates an errant automatic call, stay on the line and let the dispatcher know that it was a mistake.
