
RUGBY, N.D. (KFGO) – State Patrol is investigating after a 53-year-old man was killed in a crash east of Rugby, N.D. Thursday night. The 15-year-old driver of a pick-up was crossing over US Highway 2 after stopping at a stop sign. When the southbound pick-up proceeded through the median of the intersection and cross into the eastbound lanes, it collided with an SUV driven by a 53-year-old man from New Jersey.
Authorities say the SUV was struck at a right angle and spun into the south ditch of US Highway
2 where it began to roll, and the driver was ejected and suffered fatal injuries. The female passenger of the SUV, a 50 year-old woman from Louisiana, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. The juvenile was taken to a Rugby clinic, treated and released.
Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies, Rugby Police, and Rugby Ambulance also responded to the crash, which is still under investigation by the NDHP.
