JAMESTOWN, ND – (NewsDakota) – Going into its 28th year, the annual Jamestown Kite Festival kicks off its three-day event this Friday, June 11. The “Wings on Strings Kite Club” organizers, Mike Gee and Chris Dodson originally started the event as a competition, but it quickly turned into a much larger event.
There’s something for all ages each day, from kite building to professional kite fliers.
Dodson says they’ll host members of the “No Knots Kite Team”, a squad of professional kite fliers that perform choreographed routines to music at events around the world.
Organizers say the skies will be filled with homemade and professional kites, and even kites as big as houses.
The kite flying will be held at Medinger Park.
