FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo man has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery for a stabbing at an apartment in the 3100 block of North Broadway early Saturday morning.
Fabian Henderson, 56, was arrested around 2:30 Sunday morning – about 24 hours after police responded to the initial call.
The victim, a woman, told police that she met Henderson and another man downtown and then went to her apartment to drink. The complaint says an argument started when Henderson urinated on the floor of the woman’s bathroom.
According to police documents, Henderson became enraged when the victim raised her voice and began punching her before pulling out a knife and stabbing her approximately 10 times. Documents also say Henderson stole her phone.
The victim was stabbed in the face, shoulder, chest, arm, abdomen, and back. Officers found blood on the couch, floor, walls, and other parts of the apartment.
A knife was recovered in the apartment.
Henderson told police he didn’t go to the victim’s apartment to stab her, but remembered stabbing someone although he didn’t know it was a female. He said he is sometimes triggered into “blackout mode” and doesn’t remember his actions.
He also said if he stabs someone, “I wanted to kill them,” court documents said.
“I ain’t stab them just to poke them,” Henderson said. “I stab them to kill them, if I stab somebody.”
The woman’s condition has not been released.
Henderson remains in the Cass County jail.
