FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson says a dumpster fire that damaged Fryn’ Pan restaurant at 300 Main Ave. early Monday morning was intentionally set.
The fire was located next to the restaurant and spread to the roof. Firefighters were able to get a quick knockdown and limited the damage, estimated at $5,000.
This is the latest in a series of dumpster fires in south Fargo. In one night last week, there were five dumpster fires at three separate locations, all in the same vicinity. It’s believed those fires are related.
It’s uncertain if Monday’s fire and another fire at an unoccupied house last week are connected to those dumpster fires.

Firefighters responded to the Fryin’ Pan at 300 Main Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday for a dumpster fire. The dumpster was fully involved and the fire spread to the eaves of the roof.
Battalion Chief Jason Ness says fire crews were able to get a quick knockdown. A portion of the roof was cut into to ensure the fire had not spread.
Whether it is connected to a recent series of late-night dumpster fires in Fargo isn’t known. The Fargo Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
The Fryin’ Pan, which is open around the clock was briefly closed but reopened.
