GRAND FORKS (KFGO) – A semi driver from Texas who was hauling a trailer loaded with liquor is facing citations for drunken driving, care required, having alcohol in a commercial vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon illegally after a crash on I-29 in Grand Forks.
The state patrol says the trucker ran into the back of another semi that had just gotten onto the interstate. The truck that was struck had stopped on the shoulder.
The driver of a pickup feared that the first semi would cross the median into his lane of traffic. The semi hit the front of the pickup, but was stopped by the cable barrier.
Several hundred feet of cable barrier were damaged.
