FARGO (KFGO) – Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner has given an employee at the jail a 24-hour, non-paid suspension for an offensive social media post.
Deputy Tamara Holland must also attend meetings of the Fargo Human Relations and Native American Commissions as part of an agreement to keep her job.
Holland admitted to posting a video on Tik Tok that featured a Native American caricature that was shared and received a considerable amount of negative feedback. She was not working at the time. Jahner says Holland will also be required to create a liaison contact between the sheriff’s department and Native American community to learn more about the culture.
Holland is a non-licensed officer who was hired in the fall of 2018
