BISMARCK, ND (KFGO) – An emotional Gov. Doug Burgum is asking that politics be removed from the discussion over whether to wear a mask as protection against coronavirus.
The Republican governor said he hopes North Dakota can “skip” the ideological and political debate that’s been going on in other parts of the country.
“If someone is wearing a mask, they’re not doing it to represent what political party they’re in, or what candidates they support. They might be doing it because they have a five-year-old child who’s going through cancer treatments. They might have vulnerable adults in their life who currently have COVID” Burgum said.
There are currently no mandates that require protective masks to be worn in public in North Dakota.
