Chris Boerboom Talks 100 years of NDSU Extension

by Amy Iler

WHEN and WHERE : May 8, 1:30 p.m. at the NDSU Memorial Union Century Theater

WHY: This year, the NDSU Extension Service is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act. It created the Cooperative Extension Service, a state-by-state network of educators to extend university-based research and knowledge to the people. Although times and technologies have changed, NDSU Extension still is committed to extending knowledge and changing lives now and in the future.

Who and What: Steve Stark, historian, will present an illustrated look at the historic timeline of the Extension Service and the land-grant university. His unique illustrated presentation will bring history and art to life as he tells Extension's stories while drawing with skill and speed on a 20- to 30-feet roll of paper.

Others, such as Chris Boerboom, NDSU Extension Service director, will be available for interviews.
