TIM POLASEK OPENS UP ABOUT WHAT RETURNING TO NDSU MEANS TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KNFL)— Tim Polasek is back with the Bison and this time as NDSU’s head football coach. Polasek returns for a third stint with the Bison after coaching under Craig Bohl and Chris Kleiman. Polasek’s coaching journey took him to Iowar where he was the offensive line coach before reuniting with Bohl at Wyoming where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Polasek expressed his gratitude to have an opportunity to return to the city he calls home to be head football coach at NDSU.
“Everything that’s led to this point has made me realize I get to coach football at the University here. North Dakota State. Every day I am going to wake up with that attitude. I get to coach in Fargo North Dakota. I think that’s a hell of a deal,” said Polasek.
Polasek won FCS championships as a member of the Bison coaching staff in 2011,2012, 2014, and 2015. Now returning to the Bison for his third job with NDSU and first head coaching opportunity, Polaske looks to lead the Bison to a new era.
“This is a big, big, big deal. A lot of time and effort and growing up has gone into this. I’m really forutunate. I was telling Matt; 2018, Coach Entz got hired, it was heartbreaking when I didn’t get the job. But I think it was the best thing to ever happen to me. It allowed me to move forward and learn and grow and experience things that I didn’t even know existed in college football or in college athletics and I’m so much more confident sitting here today getting this opportunity today than I would have been back in 2018…”
“It’s home for Jill and I… I get to coach where I met my wife. Not a lot of guys get to say that… this place.. the players that I’ve coached means so much to me. I’m really happy that everybody, the staff is here. Lookinf forward to moving forward into what’s become the new era; with the transfer portal and N.I.L. and those things are at the fore-front… the only promise I made the players yesterday was that this staff will make every decision for them. What positions them best for success, for them to have the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Polasek
