Two plays and a student showcase will be on the docket at the Ramada, on 13th Ave, Monday (Dec 30th) at 6:30pm and a 3pm matinee on Tuesday (Dec 31st).
From the Director: For many years following the war in Vietnam, people were unwilling to discuss the events that transpired, and many soldiers that served our country returned to their homeland unwelcomed and isolated. The experiences of these veteran quietly produced conflict and disconnect within their families and the impact of PTSD made itself apparent. While working on these impactful and heart wrenching pieces, the cast and team has reached out to many veterans. These conversations have illuminated the pain and struggle that so may have endured and exposed gril realities of addiction, depression, and in come cases, suicide. You may have family members and friends that struggle with some of these issues, and it’s important that the theatre illuminates this reality while also attempting to eliminate the stigma associated with it. Through these two plays, Stephen Metcalfe manages to tackle these struggles and show a glimpse of what a family in a post vietnam America could look like.
