BISMARCK, ND. (KCND AM) -- The director of the U.S. Census Bureau says there are very specific challenges in order to get an accurate census count in places like North Dakota that are seeing rapid population growth.
Census Bureau Director John Thompson is touring the state to get a first hand look at the boom and what it will mean for the next census.
Thompson says the Census Bureau plans on using new electronic tools that will help with the next count.
Thompson was invited to the state by senator Heidi Heitkamp.
She and others believe North Dakota's population has been undercounted.
