GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. (AP) - A Grand Forks Air Force Base airman will serve 20 years in prison for raping a woman whose husband was deployed.
Senior Airman Jory Hodge also received a dishonorable discharge and must forfeit all pay and allowances. His rank will be reduced and the 23-year-old must register as a sex offender.
Hodge was sentenced to 34 years in prison but the time was capped at 20 years because he pleaded guilty to all charges.
According to testimony, Hodge drank alcohol at a party in base housing on Aug. 9 and later that night drove to the on-base house of an airman who he knew was deployed.
Hodge says he climbed through the back window with the intention of having sex with the airman's wife, even without her consent.
