LifeSmarts state finals being held in Bismarck

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Thirty-five students from six North Dakota high schools are competing in the state finals of the annual LifeSmarts competition.

The Wednesday event is at the Bohn Armory in Bismarck. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says this marks the 17th year for the competition that tests students about personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology, and consumer rights and responsibilities.

Schools represented in the state finals are Barnes County North, Burke Central, Central Cass DECA, Kindred, Ray and Jamestown, which has two teams. The winning North Dakota team advances to nationals in Orlando, Fla., later this year.
