WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) --The North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton is seeking to expand its Fargo campus at a cost of $65 million.
President John Richman says the school is seeking approval from the state Board of Higher Education to request the governor include the project in his next budget proposal. Next year's Legislature ultimately would have to approve funding.
The college created its Fargo campus for workforce training 18 years ago and has since expanded its programming. The campus had 300 students last fall, and Richman says enrollment in coming years is projected to reach as many as 2,000 students.
Richman says even if the expansion is approved, it's likely that it would be done in phases over several years rather than all at once.
