Crash victim rescues another

GRAND FORKS, ND (KFGO AM) -- Two people were injured following a dramatic crash on the north side of Grand Forks.

Police say 25-year-old David Jensen of Mekinock, North Dakota, pulled over to to the side of the road with his flashers on to send a text message.

His vehicle was then hit by a car driven by 49-year old Tracy Ludwig of Fisher, Minnesota.

Ludwig missed a curve, crossed the center line and struck Jensen head-on.

Her car started on fire after the crash.

Jensen was able to pull Ludwig, who was unconscious, out of the vehicle and to safety before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames.

Both drivers were transported to Altru Hospital.

Jensen was treated and released.

Ludwig was admitted with non-threatening injuries.

Ludwig will be charged with DUI
