FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- The FBI is involved in an investigation into bomb threats that have hit a handful of F-M stores and retailers nationwide.
The FBI says the threats are similar in nature and may be part of a nationwide scam.
A man with an accent calls the stores and asks that prepaid money cards be activated or a bomb will be detonated.
Money can be loaded onto the 'green pack" money cards available at stores throughout the country and are untraceable.
About a half-dozen CVS, Kmart and Walgreens stores in Fargo-Moorhead, have received the threats.
Stores in Grand Forks and Bismarck have also had the same calls.
In most cases, the stores have been briefly evacuated and checked out by police but no explosive devices have been found.
