FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- A big effort at the Great Plains Food Bank to end hunger.
The first ever pack-a-thon is helping kick off Hunger Action Month.
Volunteers are working in shifts for 30 hours.
The goal is to pack up to 50,000 meals for those in need to be delivered this weekend.
Food packed as part of the event will be distributed in 266 charitable feeding programs in more than 100 communities.
