(MINNEAPOLIS, Minn) KFGO AM-- 37-people have been murdered in Minnesota this year by their significant other.
That compares to a total of 18 last year.
Liz Richards is with the Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women and says last year alone more than 62-thousand people reached out to the agency for help.
She says with all the high profile cases this year, now is an opportune time to raise awareness on the issue.
Richards says only one in five domestic abuse victims reach out for help.
