Washington, DC  (KFGO-AM)  Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson, one of the farm bill’s top four negotiators said the group met Wednesday for the first time since the House appointed its conferee’s last Saturday.

Peterson said the meeting went well but he told KFGO News he’s worried about progress in getting a new farm bill. He said a lot depends on how the Republican leadership and Tea Party forces react because of their losses with the budget showdown battle.

Peterson said “I hope this (budget) has got things out of people’s systems so we can start doing the people’s business and not go off on a temper tantrum like some have been doing.”Peterson is the ranking Democrat on the House Ag Committee.
