Days before power fully restored after storm

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- Officials say it will be days before power is restored to all southwest North Dakota residents who lost power during the weekend storm. Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative and Slope Electric co-manager Chris Baumgartner says at least 550 customers remained without power late Monday.

That was down from about 800 on Sunday.

He says it will take time to restore electricity to all customers because of the tough working conditions for crews. Montana Dakota Utilities Co. spokesman Mark Hanson expected power to be restored to all but about 100 customers Monday evening, down from 750 on Sunday. The storm dumped up to 1 1/2 feet of snow on the region, downing hundreds of power lines.
