MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - A Fargo man and a West Fargo man have been recognized for a dramatic water rescue in Clay County. Sheriff Bill Bergquist presented his department's "Lifesaving Award" to Randy Trader and Michael Joyce.

Bergquist says Trader and Joyce were fishing Oct. 2 on Silver Lake near Hawley when they heard a man screaming for help. The men responded to the screams and found Troy Morse of Glyndon clinging to the side of his capsized fishing boat.

Morse was thrown from his boat after he accidentally let go of the handle on his outboard motor. He told investigators he probably would have drowned if no one had intervened.
