Dickinson, Jamestown Victorious in Play-In Games at State 'A' Legion Tourney

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KFGO AM)-- DICKINSON 11 WILLISTON 1 The Dickinson Roughriders scored 4 runs in the first inning and 5 in the eighth enroute to an 11-1 victory over the Williston Keybirds during the play-in game of the State 'A' Legion baseball tournament at West Fargo Veterans Memorial Field. Dickinson's James Kary picked up the win pitching 8 strong innings. Kary also collected 3 hits and drove in 3 runs. Dickinson will now face the #1 Seed West Fargo tonight at 8pm. JAMESTOWN 15 MANDAN 5 The Mandan Chiefs put 4 runs on the board in the top of the first inning last night off Jamestown starter Riley Schafer, but the lead was short-lived. Jamestown would answer with 4 runs of their own in the bottom of the first, then added 5 more in the third inning enroute to a 15-5 win. Schafer finished with a complete game win and also collected 4 hits with 2 doubles and two runs scored. Tyler Ukestad knocked in 5 runs for victorious Jamestown who will face Bismarck today at 4:30pm in the State 'A' Legion tourney.
