FARGO - (KFGO-AM) - The Environmental Protection Agency is dropping its federal lawsuit against the former owners of Camelot Cleaners in West Fargo.
A civil suit filed last year claimed that one of three parties involved in a cleanup settlement stopped making mandatory payments. The agency is asking a federal judge for permission to dismiss the case because the defendant can't be located.
The EPA has spent about $5.7 million to remove hazardous chemicals that threatened West Fargo's water supply.
The lawsuit does not involve current Camelot Cleaners locations.
