MANKATO, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- Officials in the Mankato area are rolling out the "purple carpet" as the Minnesota Vikings begin arriving this afternoon for training camp.
Ann Thill with Visit Mankato says they have four tailgate party zones along the route that they know the Vikings typically take to campus.
She says a few hundred people will be out cheering so the Vikes know Mankato really loves to have them around.
Thill says the three-week training camp brings more than 50-thousand Vikings fans to Mankato and has about a $5-million economic impact on the area.
She adds they're proud that Minnesota State University-Mankato is the NFL team's summer home.
