FERGUS FALLS, MN (KFGO AM) -- A Battle Lake, Minnesota man who served time in jail for cutting the throat of his dog is back in the Otter Tail County jail.
Benjamin Stavaas was arrested on a probation violation. He was convicted of criminal mischief in Grand Forks.
As part of his sentence in the animal mistreatment case, he was not supposed to break the law during the two years of his probation. Stavaas will remain in jail until a Friday court hearing.
Stavaas slashed the throat his dog "Starr" about three years ago. The dog was seized and eventually recovered.
