FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A family of three escaped a burning apartment in Fargo Sunday morning.
The fire at 702 21st St. S. broke out around 7 a.m. Alex Anderson, his girlfriend, and one-year old daughter got out safely.
Anderson says they were sleeping when the fire broke out. He smelled smoke and woke his girlfriend. They went to investigate and saw smoke and flames coming from the back outside of the home. They grabbed their baby and dogs and got out.
Firefighters got the fire out quickly. Damage was confined to the back southeast side of the structure. The cause is under investigation.
The house is converted into three apartments, but the young family was the only one there when the fire broke out.
