FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- If you are a Verizon Wireless customer, beware.
A phishing scam is targeting people with fake rebate rewards.
Some F-M area residents say they've received automated calls claiming to be from Verizon telling them to go to a webite to get a $50.00 rebate.
Those who go there are asked to enter personal account information.
Verizon wireless says customers who receive such calls should notify their customer service so they can investigate.
Verizon representatives also recommend using the 'block that scam' feature on their website to prevent fraud.
Customers can use this feature to block up to five 1-800 telemarketers or scammers.
