The search committee has narrowed the sites for a new Fargo City Hall to 5 from a list of 18.
The group, meeting today, named the sites in order of preference as the Civic Center Plaza, encompassing a 4 square block around the current city hall, the former Pierce Printing building and the old Taco Bell properties on 1st Avenue North, the U.S. Bank Plaza on Broadway, and property in the 400 block of NP Avenue, across from the MAT Bus Depot.
Architect Richard Moorhead will now come up with an analysis of each site for presentation to the committee in two weeks.
The goal is to pick the site by early October.
Fargo City Hall is decades old , cramped and outdated. City leaders say it would cost millions to fix.
