FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The number of Fargo public school students who attended the first day of class was 11,077 -- that's an increase of 220 students from last year.
The strongest growth occurred in the district's elementary schools and schools south of Main Avenue.
This year's kindergarten class of 998 is the largest in Fargo since 1967.
Secondary schools north of Main Avenue saw the largest declines. Ben Franklin Middle School is down 47 students from last year. North High School lost 38 students.
Final enrollment figures are expected to change.
