A Fargo man who fled an multi-vehicle injury crash near Oakes, North Dakota has been arrested, a day after he fled the scene on foot.
37-year old Gabriel Eckstrom managed elude authorities when he ran into a cornfield.
Sargeant County Sheriff Travis Paeper says tips from the public led authorities to a motel in Oakes where Eckstrom was arrested late thursday morning. Eckstrom walked 7 miles into town last night and checked in under an alias.
The Highway Patrol says Eckstrom was driving a pickup that ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle, injuring 3 people.
Eckstrom was also injured and taken to the Oakes Hospital. His injuries are not serious.
A number of charges are pending.
