It's O.K. to still miss your Mother?

by Bob Harris

It is still tough for me to believe but 28 years ago I lost my mother to cancer. 28 years! It seems like just yesterday when I got the call from Hospice and they said "Come quick. It's time".

Nov. 18th would have been her 85th birthday but I can the memory just doesn't fade away. And thank God for that. Oh, I'll remember the day she died but I've got a lot of Nov. 18th's to remember.

I won't go into details of my past  family life. Those of you who knew her know what I'm talking about.

One of my favorite pictures of her was sent to me by the daughter of one of her inseparable friends. It was taken on the shoreline of Lake Michigan in Chicago. Long before my father...let alone me was a glimmer in her eyes. Miss you Mom and Happy Birthday!
