The NDSU men's basketball team travels to Brookings, S.D. today to take on Summit League rival and back-to-back Summit League champions, the SDSU Jackrabbits. While the Jacks are not the team of the past two seasons, they still are not a team to look past.
NDSU Bison 14-5 (3-1) @ South Dakota State University Jackrabbits 10-9 (2-2) 4 p.m. (790/KFGO)
- The Bison's interior defense has been spectacular this season. NDSU is averaging five blocks a game, which is tops in the Summit League. They are going to need that interior defense today with SDSU relying on a majority of their offense coming from the post.
- The Jacks have struggled mightily with defense this season. While averaging 72.9 points per game on offense, they are giving up 71.7 points per game. SDSU's defense actually played a major part in their success the past two seasons, where their scoring margin was plus eight and plus 10 in back-to-back seasons. NDSU will be able to score against the Jacks today.
- The top two scorers in the league, Taylor Braun for NDSU and Jordan Dykstra for SDSU, will square off in this game. Braun comes in averaging 18.3 points per game while Dykstra is averaging 16.6. Both of the players score in similar fashion. Look for these two to go after each other offensively.
Prediction: NDSU 85 SDSU 80
