I was digging through Netflix the other night on my Nook and ran across a "best of" Chris Farley compilation from his days on Saturday Night Live. Laughed my arse off. From Matt Foley to the Chippendales skit with Patrick Swayze ... pretty good stuff.
So it got me to thinking: Who was my favorite Saturday Night Live performer? There have been, over the years, hundreds of comedians and actors who've been part of the cast on SNL.
I have the benefit of age ... I was growing up when SNL first began ... so the original cast that included Chase, Belushi, Akroyd and Co. will always be the ones I enjoy most. But I stuck with SNL through the Eddie Murphy days and Will Ferrell's time. Admittedly, I haven't watched much of SNL in the past 10 years or so. It simply has lost its edginess and originality.
But that doesn't mean I won't share my opinion of my favorite SNL regulars:
1. John Belushi.
2. Eddie Murphy.
3. Bill Murray.
4. Chris Farley
5. Phil Hartman.
That is are my top 5. Who is on your list?
