The 2013 walleye fishing trip to Lake of the Woods, with a crew of about 50 faithful KFGO listeners, is in the books. Today was much the same as Monday. Good start to the day for our 8 charter boats ... and things died in the afternoon as temperatures soared to 90 and winds died to nothing.
The biggest fish of the trip was caught by Jerry Woytassek of Milnor, N.D. His walleye measured 26 3/4 inches, which is actually a fairly small "big fish" for this trip. Somebody usually catches a walleye 30 inches or longer. Jerry's fish weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was released back into Lake of the Woods.
