Good news for downtown Moorhead.
Sara Watson, owner of Mosaic Foods and the Mezzaluna restaurant in Fargo, has plans for a full-service restaurant in the Kassenborg Block space recently vacated when John Alexander's and Juano's moved to Fargo.
A legal notice published in the Extra newspaper shows Moorhead's city council will meet June 9 to consider the tax-incentive application filed by Watson of Mosaic Foods LLC.
"No set-in-stone plans yet, but we are in early discussions," Watson said via e-mail. "We are Moorhead residents and would love to be a part of the growing downtown Moorhead development. ... Love the building as well."
Sara and husband Eric are well-known restaurateurs in Fargo-Moorhead. Sara is the business manager of Mosaic Foods while Eric is the executive chef. They are both certified culinarians through the American Culinary Federation and both possess an Associates degree of Applied Science in Culinary Arts, according to the Mosaic website. They have 15 years of culinary experience.

Mosaic Foods is a catering service that also offers private cooking classes and special occasion dinners. Their restaurant Mezzaluna is in downtown Fargo and features fine dining at a higher-end price point for Fargo-Moorhead.
John Alexander's and Juano's, both owned by Juan Mondragon, announced a move to Fargo in April.
