Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed SB 1062, a bill to allow Americans to discriminate against fellow Americans. That’s right; the bill would have legalized the discrimination of Americans. It just so happens that in the case of SB 1062, the Americans were gay.
Today on “News & Views”, we had a wonderful discussion about this bill. As you can imagine, opinions varied. Some believe being gay is immoral, and some believe whose who are gay do not have the rights to services other Americans do.

The people we are talking about are human beings. They are Americans who pay taxes, defend our country, love their families and live right next to us.
To those in the Arizona Legislature who felt empowered to discriminate against them, I can only suggest you send Governor Brewer a thank you note. She saved your state from becoming a laughing stock.
