If I was a bettin' man, President Obama sat down with his speech writer and decided one thing: the State of the Union address was going to focus on achievable goals.
The President didn't set out lofty, unrealistic goals. After all, I doubt that he will get the conservative House to support higher wages. Either way, it will end up being a good campaign issue.
And while I had wished he spent more time on infrastructure and defense spending, it was a real honor to witness a life changing moment for a member of the United States Marine who stood and was recognized for all he did for this country. If that moment didn't point out to everyone we are in this together... nothing will.
My opinion: It was a great speech.
