In my professional career, I have had some great opportunities. For close to 25 years I worked for a Water District that expanded from over 500 to 3,000 farms and homes. We went from a handful of member cities to well over 30 cities purchasing water.
How did we accomplish it? Simple: we did what we said we were going to do.
We crossed people’s land… and we restored it the best we could. We went into their yards with heavy equipment… and respected the flower garden. Through growth in members, we kept rates affordable. And most importantly, we kept our word. We did what we said we were going to do.
President Obama has a problem. He hasn't done what he said he was going to do. It began with some people not being allowed to keep their current health insurance coverage, even if they wanted to. He said you could, and for many, that simply isn't true. He said that The Affordable Care Act would be ready to go and it wasn't.
This goes beyond the website (although that was the first problem). Ironically, the problem is no one is speaking to the problems. There needs to be an official within the Administration (whom the public trusts) to address concerns and troubleshoot problems. This goes to accountability and respect for making sure you do what you say you’re going to do.
Many people on my side of the isle realized this nation needed to address our health care system. We couldn't compete with other nations, nations who have higher success rates and lower costs. So, the party that isn't afraid to discuss ideas (Democrats) and deal with problems… has a problem. So far, the roll out of the ACA has not only cost many Democrat Congressman and Senators jobs, but it hasn't done what it said it was going to do.
