It didn't take long for North Dakota State to get things going against Delaware State Saturday afternoon.
And, when it started - it didn't seem to ever stop, as NDSU routed the Hornets 51-0.
Brock Jensen was able to pick and choose his way into the end zone, finding Ryan Smith for a 4 yard touchdown pass, and connecting with Zach Vraa on a 25 yard pitch and catch, putting NDSU (3-0) up 14-0 midway though the first quarter.Jensen set a record for career completions in the game, moving past Steve Walker on the all time list. Jensen now has 538 Completions. Jenson also passed Walker in all time total offensive yards. John Crockett led the NDSU ground attack, gaining 85 yards and scoring a touchdown.
The Bison defense dominated as well.
Marcus Williams collected career interception number 20 late in the first period, plucking a Delaware State pass out of the air, and returning it for an FCS record sixth career touchdown, putting NDSU up 20-0 after the first quarter.
The Herd defense was so good, NDSU Forced four punts and one interception on five Hornets drives in the first quarter alone, and held Delaware State to under 200 yards of total offense for the entire game.
With the 51-0 win, Craig Bohl notched his 92nd career win, making him the winningest coach in North Dakota State History.
NDSU will play at South Dakota State next week.
