It's true that fat is fat. And yes, our bodies need some fat in order for it to perform at its optimum best. But one thing to keep in mind is that there are some differences we all should think twice about before consuming that side item with our meals or for in between meals!
What we need to focus on is the BETTER fats:
Polyunsaturated: found in corn, sunflower and soybean oils as in: nuts, seeds and fish
Monounsaturated: found in olives, canola and peanut oils: avocados too
And now the BAD fats: (over time can lead to increased health risks)
Trans: found in processed foods. Also in foods that have hydrogenated vegetable oils; chips, buttered popcorn, cookies, margarine, fries and doughnuts...
Saturated: form animal products; meat, cheese, butter and milk
The main things to remember are...everything in moderation and increase your water intake!
